The Adair Club at Grand Lodge
On Saturday 31st May fifteen Somerset Brethren took a trip to Grand Lodge to attend the Light Blues Communication. The new Chair of the Adair Club, Tom Beasley, and his new Secretary, Chris Cooke attended along with a number of other Light Blues. 🔵 There were also some Provincial Grand Officers in attendance to keep an eye on proceedings, including Tony Guthrie, Ray Conneely, Matt Williams and Past Chair Mike Norton.
Over 1600 Freemasons from across the Constitution were at Freemasons’ Hall, to be part of a truly landmark event.
Most of the group had not been to the Grand Temple before and were amazed at the architecture and the atmosphere.
Lodge Sine Nomine No.10000 hosted the emergency meeting and opened proceedings and then the Lodge was called off for the Grand Director of Ceremonies to announce the entrance of the Pro Grand Master and the active Grand Officers of the year to attend, including our very own Past Provincial Grand Master, Stuart Hadler, who is an active Grand Steward. We were lucky enough to have seats behind the Grand Stewards.
The main part of proceedings were three insightful presentations by Light Blues clubs (The Somerset Adair club had submitted a presentation but unfortunately, we were not selected), and a video about joining Royal Arch, which I am sure will be released soon. After the meeting we had a light lunch at Freemasons Hall where the rulers mingled around the rooms and were all very accessible. I spoke at length to the Assistant Grand Master Steven Varley.
A number of Brethren few stayed to watch the live recording of Craftcast, The Freemasons Podcast, which is produced by our very own Shay Aziz. We then made our weary way back to Somerset. All of us having enjoyed a fabulous day.
We hope to see this event repeated very soon, after all, the future of Freemasonry depends on the Light Blues 🔵
